It is unlocked so any SIM card for any country can be inserted and you are up and running and making calls in a couple minutes. Documentation is a little Spartan but it is easy enough to figure out where to find things. Phone Book is in an odd location but that is a minor irritation.It comes with a Lithium-ion battery that is tiny but provides long life and recharges quickly using a USB connection (very handy for traveling not to need to carry a special charger). I traveled all over Costa Rica with it and I had no problems with reception even in very remote areas - thanks in part to the excellent phone service provided by the national ICE phone company. There are two sets of GSM bands used in Europe, Russia, Africa, and most of Central and South America and two other bands used in the USA, Honduras, and Panama, countries that the US military controls, so have the 4 bands on this one phone means it can be used... While I liked the basic features and the way it looked and felt, the battery wouldn't stay charged for more than 24 hours! And that was standby only - no calls!!! I gave it three charge cycles hoping it would improve, but it didn't. Then I returned it for an exact replacement, but the replacement phone was just as bad!!! It's a shame because I really wanted to like and use this phone, but less than 24 hours on a no-frills non-smartphone is inexcusable!!! |
